The C.O.T Weekend Review

Hi Everyone, As we gear up for this weekend I know a lot of you are going to be getting ready to hit the road and enjoy the beautiful outdoors before fall starts creeping in. For everyone staying in town there will be plenty of things for you to do. You might ask where can I find these wonderful events. The answer... right here my friends.

Friday Night:
If you are not a big college football and Boise State fan, I recommend heading down to the Neurolux for Desert Noises. They are a pretty good band from Provo, UT. Nice little price at only five dollars a ticket and starts at 7pm. Aaron Mark Brown and Mickey the Jump open up for them. Here is a little sample for your listening pleasure.

Saturday:

If you're not parked all day on your couch watching the first weekend of college football, you should head to Meridian for the Barley Bros Traveling Beer Show. Even though it technically starts on Friday the main festivities will be on Saturday. Last year it was a success in Boise but moving to the new expansive park in Meridian, Kleiner Park. It should be a great time, it starts at 11am and only costs $20 dollars for unlimited tastings. With over 200 different kinds of beer, it should be a doozy of a day. If you come down make sure to stop by our booth and say hi. Here is the link to their site if you want some more information.

If beer drinking isn't your thing, Boise is lucky enough to have another great event happening this weekend in the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic. There are two main events going on Saturday. For the early birds head down to Ann Morrison Park round 7am. You will be able to see about forty hot air balloon's inflate and take off into the sky. If you have never seen it before, its a pretty cool sight to see. Then at night from 6-9 enjoy some live music, then a choreographed glowing balloon light show. Here is the website if you would like some more information.

Sunday:
For a nice little Sunday you should head down the the BSU Student Union Fine Arts Gallery to take in a art show. The show is put on by local artists Will Eichelberger and the artists of Boise based Sector Seventeen. This exhibition is intended to present attendees with a look into the processes by which artists from the skateboard and graffiti world cultivate their skills among the many obstacles they face every day in their work. Go check it out, its up currently and will be displayed through September third.

These are some of the highlights of the weekend. What ever you decide to do, enjoy the beautiful state we live in.
