Built to Spill and Deaf Kid pics

Huge props to Shelby Hergenreder for getting up in the grills of Deaf Kid and Built to Spill so you can get a taste of the action. My bad for not putting these gems up earlier. But we are way stoked that Shelby will be at Treefort snapping pics for all ya'll to check out on his page, The C.O.T., and beyond...

BTW, Deaf Kid is playing a house show at 'The Chamber of Death' on Friday in Boise. Check this link for further info.

Treefort - Round 4 - KNOCKOUT!

Just when we we're starting to digest it all, the folks at Treefort unveil the ultimate buffet of ripper bands. I'll let you view the list here cuz it's a long-ass list. The Walkmen? Which Treefort booking person has psychic abilities and read my dang mind? Well to my psychic friend and all other Treefort booking badasses, I thank ye on behalf of the whole Treasure Valley and beyond for the entire epic lineup this year. Bring on the party. Spare liver has already been ordered.

Let it be publicly pronounced that our Shriners at El Korah Shrine in Boise are the coolest in the nation. Peep below.

Dude, my vocal chords are still recovering from screaming/singing/hollering during that Deaf Kid / Built to Spill show last night. Worth it. For the kidzzzz.

Now available at Backcountry Pursuit

We are super stoked to announce that C.O.T. merchandise is now available at Backcountry Pursuit in downtown Boise (671 S Capitol).  For those not familiar, Backcountry Pursuit, is a rad new outdoor gear consignment shop.  Basically people can buy high-end "experienced" outdoor gear for ridiculously low prices, or bring in your "experienced" outdoor gear and find it a new home while making some cold hard cash.

Available now are some C.O.T. originals, exclusive to Backcountry pursuit.  New men's Idahome Hoodies, women's "Skyline" hoodies, new unisex Idahome and Skyline tees, plus our new "Outline" tee.  Photos below.

Your Instagram pics on our homepage

What the hell is a hashtag and why the hell should I use it?
Don't be scurred or feel like you aren't hip if you don't use hashtags (We lost our hashtaginity only a month ago).  At The C.O.T., we are trying to make it easier for people to get their pics up on our site.  If you have instagram, adding the caption or comment, "#thecotboise" to your Boise related photos will automatically post your pic at the top of our blog.
(See exhibit A)

Make sure the pics are relatively appropriate and most importantly, related to The C.O.T.

Farewell to Will

First Thursday was on point. So many rad folks came out and checked out the art, chopped it up, and bobbed their heads. On a bittersweet note Mr. Will Eichelberger will be leaving Boise to follow his artistic path. So Will, we wish you well and promise to support you from afar. Here are a couple pieces from his collection which can be viewed in full right here

First Thursday - You Are Going

Listen, let's not be subtle about this. Unless you got a damn good excuse, head to downtown Boise tonight for First Thursday. Of course we encourage you to hit it as much art-related shiz as you can handle during your First Thursday experience. But make sure you visit The Crux at some point for the Re-Vision show. Tonz of art. Coffee and beer. Good looking people. The C.O.T. will have a table there and you are mandated to say hello.

Artists include: Bruce Maurey, Tony Caprai, Kelly Morgan, Sector Seventeen, Anne Boyles, Will Eichelberger, Andrew Mason, Mónica Galván Mason, Storie Grubb, James McKain, and Lauren Haney.

Re-vision - First Thursday @ Da Crux

Re-Vision

Like the poster says, a group art show w/live music will be going on down at The Crux tomorrow night (Thursday).  It's going to be awesome, in spite of the fact that we will be there trying to sell you our shirts, hats, and sweatshirts.  Below are some photos of some new designs, plus the return of The C.O.T. reversable "Skyline" beanie!!!

Grossvision - Wednesday 2/6 at The Red Room

Josh Gross has had his hand in so many creative endeavors it's bonkers. For most of us in Boise we haven't yet had the opportunity to view any of his short films which have been on the festival circuit for some time. But a chance to view these award-winners comes on Wednesday at The Red Room. Josh will be screening three of his faves: The Sundae Rider, The Lost Van Gogh, and The Dog House. 8PM. $2. Interpretive dancing by Josh will cap off the evening (maybe). All info can be found HERE

Here's a screen shot from The Lost Van Gogh

C.O.T. Photo of the Day - 2/3/13

While you're dreaming of warmer weather...

Photographer: Mark Pemble
Location: Freak Alley, Boise
Subject: Mark "stumbled upon a music video shoot" in the middle of last summer's heatwave while walking around with Colleen Green and Peach Kelli Pop. I'm sure in hindsight Colleen or Peach wishes they would have side-busted this situation and used the incredible dance talent to film an impromtu video of their own.

Ja Gloves - Reggae in The Mountains?

We like Boise. I think we may have mentioned this before. But sometimes you just need to get out of town for the weekend and clear your mind. Or in this case, cloud your mind. This Saturday night downtown Ketchum will become a little “city of trees” in its own right as it plays host to Reggae in the Mountains (www.mountainniceness.com). While reggae fests in wealthy resort towns may sound ludicrous, this one actually has some legit acts including BBC Lifetime Achievement recipient Pato Banton. Plus, if you happened to have attended MASSV this summer, you know Ketchum can be a party. So stock up on supplies and head east to forget your troubles…and probably some other stuff.

Rabbit Rabbit Ya'll - Deaf Kid, Stargaze Unlimited, Naked Apes in Caldwell

Tonight I will be attempting something I haven't done in awhile. Two shows. Two different counties. One full stoke. I will be starting in Caldwell at the Birdstop Coffee House for Deaf Kid, Stargaze Unlimited and Naked Apes

Unless you've been under a rock for the past couple of years you know that there are some ripperz coming out of Caldwell. What's dope about tonight's show is that all three bands are aforementioned 'ripperz from Caldwell'. Instead of me trying to describe their sound, pump this ish on your crap computer speakers. See ya at both shows kidzzzzz.
