Tracks of the Week

Every Sunday of every week The C.O.T. will be posting a pair of local tracks that we think you need to hear.  They may be new, they may be older, but either way they are going to be awesome!

This weeks tracks or both sort of "novelty" tracks and are totally rad.  The first track is from Arthur Maddox, produced for his biology class for extra credit.  The song is extremely well done and informative.  Definitely not your run-of-the-mill, made-for-class rap song.  The second track comes from band The Very Most.  Upon request from an Irish music label, they recorded a song about the Irish football (soccer) team for the upcoming European championships.

Fresh Paint: Erin Ruiz

So far The C.O.T. has been focused pretty heavily on music.  Since we claim to promote "art, music, and culture in The City of Trees," we figured we should probably step up our game in the art department, hence the newest addition to our site..."Fresh Paint" briefly known as Artsy Fartsy Tuesdays!  (Almost) Every week we will be sharing a new artist or something that has to do with art in our beloved city.
(if you are a artist in the Boise area and would like to share your art get at us at thecotboise@gmail.com)
This week we are excited to share the art of:

May must be toot your own horn month because now, after releasing my own album on The C.O.T. on Tuesday,  both of the tracks of the week are from projects of mine.  The first is from my new band Gazelle Eats Lion and was featured in The C.O.T. Mixtape released last summer.  Look for an upcoming GEL single release as well as a full length album as soon we get time to finish it.  The second track is one of my favorites by me:)  I made it while living in the Basque Country ca. 2008.  I promise I will have nothing to do with next week's tracks.

Clusterfunk = More Young Talent

Happy Friday y'all!  Here's a neat little "EP" from local jam-band  Clusterfunk.  After graduating from Boise High last year they laid these 5 tracks down before heading off to college.  Some incredible musicianship to go along with some clever wordplay.

Got a wild hair and decided to make an alternative album cover for  Paleanthology.  Scroll down a bit to see the OG art and listen to the album.  When you download it, feel free to throw this one on your iTunes to make the album twice as gangsta'.

Paleanthology

Hello my name is Streeter and I run The C.O.T..  In addition, I make music.  Paleanthology is a collection of 30 songs I have made over the last six years and have finally decided to compile into somewhat of an album.  After a year of sharing the music of others, I thought I should finally share some of my own.  The anthology is available for download at The C.O.T. Records Bandcamp page, where you may name your own price, or download for free.  I hope you like it.  Feel free to share.  Thanks!
